Hi, I’m Rhiannon but most people call me Rhi.
I grew up in a small town called Lismore on the far north coast of NSW, and have been in Brisbane for about 4 years. I’ve always been obsessed with art, and wanted to be a professional artist, but had considered it no more than a dream.
In 2007 though a series of paintings of mine were displayed in a touring exhibition in NSW, and I was so inspired that I put my plans for study on hold, and chased that dream.
I worked for a while as a freelance graphic designer, then an illustrator, and did some commissioned artworks, but it was only when I moved to Brisbane that I discovered my passion for tattoos, and I wouldn’t rest until I got an apprenticeship.
I’ve been tattooing for about 2 years now, and haven’t looked back. I love meeting new people every day, I love the challenge of designing something unique and personal, and I love making someone happy with their new ink… I just can’t get enough of it.
Some of my favourite things to work on are figures of women, surrealism, anything inspired by nature, swirling whimsical designs and just beautiful things in general.
I love the work of artists such as Joshua Carlton, Nick Baxter, Guy Aitchison, Hannah Aitchison and Maximo Lutz. I hope to one day be as skilled as they are.
In my spare time I spoil my cat, unleash my inner nerd playing World of Warcraft and breed reptiles with my partner. We have around 40 or so native Australian snakes, lizards and turtles living with us. All life is precious to me, and I try and protect as much of it as I can, both in captivity and in the wild.
RHI.
